Sunday Wood walk

Sunday Wood walk

Went out to the local oakwoods today for a wee walk with Mike and Malf. Damp but nice. The trees are slowly starting to turn and there is a little freshness in the air. Mike took a few pics on his iphone then played about with them on the computer as he is very good at that.

I adore the results! Me, Malf and Autumn. LOVE IT!

Autumn painting

Autumn painting

Mike painted me a picture of my favorite season with my favorite bird.
Autumn and a robin. I am absolutely delighted with it.

trying to be thrifty…

trying to be thrifty…

I am not designed to be thrifty. I am not a money saver. I am designed to win the lottery, I live in the here and now and don’t save for a rainy day. There are people who are so so good at it and I follow a blog which is ace at offering tips, advice and inspiring ideas but i seldom listen.
However at slimming world this week the lady showed us these wee cute bags from home bargains. I am terrible at mostly vegtable and fruit waste. Always have to chuck out unused to make room for fresh.
SO this is my thrifty find. I chopped up the remaining courgettes and peppers into freezer bags ready to grab a handful for chucking into what ever I fancy.

The wee bags however mean that the broccoli and carrots now can be popped from the freezer into the micro and 3-4 mins later WHAM!

30 of these wee bags for 79p! I may be a wee bit more thrifty today in order to buy new boots. Oh I love boots…..always expensive ones.

Butterscotch Angel Delight

Butterscotch Angel Delight

I utterly adore Angel Delight. There is something smooth and soothing about it. There is no better pudding ( well very few, creme caramel, vanilla vientetta and black forest gateau ) but only butterscotch flavour angel delight will do. Why anyone would want any of the other flavours is beyond me. I like it plain and simply in a bowl however I do enjoy it with tinned pears, not fresh pears but only tinned pears in syrup. Tonight Mike and I romantically halved a packet as Marcus dose not  like it, odd child. It was the perfect end to the Sunday Roast.
Slimming world says its not good for me, about 10 syns for half the packet. who cares! Always the things that taste so good are bad for you, everyone knows that.

Aldi skin care

Aldi skin care

I follow a few blogs that give a good heads up when new products are about to launch and this one gave me a wee heads up about a Dupe.
Dupes are cheaper products that are comparable to a more expensive, often higher quality products. They’re usually similar in colour and/or consistency.
The products I read about were at Aldi from today 27/9/18.
There were LACURA PINK CLAY MASK  for £5.99 and Lacura Glycolic Healthy Glow Tonic for £3.99.
The Healthy glow tonic is a dupe for Pixi Glow Tonic which is £18. I use alot of this type of product and will post about it later once I use it as I am not subjecting my face to another new product tonight lol.

Drying face mask is a scary look
Pink Clay Mask
The pink clay mask is a dupe for  Sand & Sky Purifying Pink Clay Mask at £40. I tried this tonight and WOW is all I can say. It left my skin feeling lovely. It was hard to get a decent after pic as I felt that it could not been seen as well as in real life! It comes with a lovely wee brush that you paint on and leave for 10 minutes, simply wash off with warm water and BAM! It feels very luxurious and smooth as it goes on and leaves the
skin amazing feeling when washed off.

I also picked up their Charcoal makeup remover and will see how that goes.
I saw all of this on a Blog called Makeupsavvy, so thanks to Fee there for this info.
and she has links on her post to the other Aldi products.

Very impressed so far! May have to get a few more for a later time!

Syn free chicken pate

Syn free chicken pate

Firm fav of mine from long ago. Syn free chicken pate.
Freezes great so I froze them in wee ice cream size scoop balls for ease of removing. Recipe below.
SW Chicken Pate Syn free
500g chicken livers trimmed and cleaned.
4 lean bacon rashers.
1 onion finely chopped.
I crushed garlic clove
1/4 tsp mustard powder
Zest and juice of 1 lemon
Salt and pepper to taste.
300g quark.
Fry the liver and bacon until golden but pink in the middle 6-8 minutes.
Place the live, bacon and pan juices in a processor.
Spray the pan with fry light and add the onion and garlic and cook till onion is soft but not coloured. Add the thyme lemon and mustard and scrape the pan to release any juices.
Add onion mixture to the processor with the quark and blend till smooth.
Place into tubs and chill for 24 hours.
Can be frozen after the 24 hours chilled and I have made it with lemon thyme, smoked and unsmoked bacon and the one tonight had lemon zest and juice in it too. Good basic recipe to alter as you wish.
