Diary of me, my weight loss.... ( HAH! ) exercise ....(YEAH RIGHT!), cooking success's and failures and pretty much what ever else enters my head throughout my life.
Well today saw me wave off my youngest child ALONE on a train! He is however 15 and a half and was getting met at the other end by my eldest. My heart was thumping however as instead of a straight line route he had to get off at Dyce and get on a bus to Aberdeen due to works on the line. Maybe I baby him too much lol.
Anyways once he left I nipped into Lidl and bought more of that lush plums that I got yesterday.
On plan so far with my new wee diet tracking diary. I dont like the way you are meant to log food with the Slimming world things so found these wee diary logs on Amazon. Lasts 12 weeks and suits me better.
……………so today marks the last day of this unhealthy unmotivated, unmoving lifestyle. Cleaning out the cupboards of junk food, food planning and tidying round the treadmill all to begin tomorrow.
Also today saw me decide to bring back the real blog. All my Instagram posts have posted to my blog over on blogger but it is no longer updated and word on the web says that google may drop it at any time. The threat of losing all the posts over the last 8 years was too much to handle so with the help of my hubby I got my own web domain name, hosting and even managed to get all my posts moved over. They are all here but have to tags, categories etc which will take time. I am not sure if to link my Instagram to here or keep both separate like I used to….
I read a good book on holiday in Spain which kinda hit home. Its called Memoirs of a former Fatty by Gemma Dale. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Memoirs-Former-Fatty-girl-went-ebook/dp/B01FCF9THM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1533494279&sr=8-1&keywords=memoirs+of+a+former+fatty
It basically said there is no fad diet, there is no quick fix. The only way to get healthy, lose weight and get fit, is hard hard work. In the book she mentions setting SMART goals. SMART goals remind me of my nursing training and they were drummed into us then. Make any goal to be Specific,Measurable, Achievable,Realistic and|Timely. By setting goals within this SMART ideals, then they are certainly do able.
My large ideal dream far off goals are to lose 2 stone by Christmas then another 1 or 2 by next summer.
My initial small goals are set over a 4 week time scale. Then at the end of this first 4 weeks I will reassess and set another 4 weeks. For me I feel 4 weeks are doable so here are my first block of goals.
1. Lose a stone. I am returning to slimming world yet again. I feel, for me, the guidance this gives me especially in the first month is needed to focus. I am going to the Thursday night class for the next 2 months I am off all but 1 Thursday. This give me regular class and time of weekly weigh in. Though as I am starting on Monday I will always also weigh on a Monday at home.
2. Weeks 1-4 of C25k. I have gotten to week 6 of this before so know I can run for 25 minutes with no stopping. But its been a while and I need to begin again. Going to do 3 runs a week and follow the program. You could do it every second day but I feel 3 a week is good enough.
3. Aim a class a week. The other 2 are set as I AM doing them. Sticking to Healthy eating and embarking on C25k is very good but if I can start to add in one class a week at my local leisure centre at some point I will be delighted. I enjoy the dance style of Zumba or Aerobics. I also enjoy Pilates so any of that 3 would be good. This goal is more to get into the habit of fitness.
My darling husband always comments on my inappropriate foot wear. Well he used to but I think he has given up after 30 years together. Today was a prime example. I adore shoes and boots of any kind. They are my tipple, my shopping go to, one can never have enough shoes! Sadly I often forget what I am wearing on my feet when I go to do things. Its not like I don’t have enough shoes to cover every occasion possible 3 times over but I often end up in situations where I hear Mikes voice saying, “what have you got on your feet??” ………….”INAPPROPRIATE FOOT WEAR KAREN”
Today Malf was feeling a bit low. I think his booster and Tic tablet and overall excitement of the vet yesterday wore him out and likely feeling a bit yuck. I felt sorry for him so I said that words, Walk Malf? and had to get the jacket on and lead and whoosh out the door. It was drizzling and Mike happened to text when I was out. As soon as he did I heard his voice in my head and thought about my feet and how they were feeling a bit wet and dirty.
I had received a few pieces of my Nana’s Jewelry the other day from My Mum. My Nana has passed away in December and was a fantastically fun lady to have growing up. She had Dementia for the last few years of her life but before that you never saw her without lipstick, powder and jewelry on. She was always immaculate.
Due to this her Jewelry had not been in use in years so the pieces I got were tarnished and not looking at their best. I looked up how to clean them and having used the tin foil, baking soda and boiling water before I gave it a bash.
This weekend sees our 23rd Wedding Anniversary. 1995! Dear me that seems so long ago in one way yet just a heartbeat ago in another. I am a very lucky lady to of married not only my best friend but my soul mate, confidante, companion, heart’s desire , partner and true love.
Ok,, mush over.
We always have a nice meal, normally at home, cooked by us with wine and I imagine this weekend will be no different but we did something good this year. Instead of gifts, we adopted a DONKEY! Its so so cute. I have been horse mad since ever and always wanted a donkey too. Now we kinda have one! Bluebeau! He was saved from the meat trade after being found at a cattle market with his friend Daniel who is also at the same place. Amazing wee Sanctuary in the Scottish Borders. http://www.donkeyheaven.org/#main
Today sees our 23rd wedding anniversary. WOW not seems that long ago since 1995 in some ways but in others, well it does seem 23 years. We got married in my local village church in the village square of Fochabers.
It was a very warm day and I had a long sleeved dress!
If it had been today then a long sleeved dress would of been nice as its rather chilly and wet today.
Anyways, Happy Anniversary to my Husband Mike! Heres to loads more x x
Pinterest got me into the whole idea of Pipe art. Being married to a plumber is often inspiring as there is nothing this man of mine cant do.
Years ago he made some shelves and I loved them so when doing up the living room which now are hanging in my downstairs toilet. Sounds awful but they look very cool there with old local bottles on show.
When we recently decorated the living room there was a blank bit on the wall and he suggested we do the same idea. The old and new shelves are both made from scaffolding boards but the first is MI ( malleable iron) pipe and the new ones are shiny copper. I love them all. Pinterest has so many ideas for this kind of unique style and I am sure this wont be the last one we have.
It began with marking it onto the newly painted walls. Love this colour, its called Fruits of the Forest from B&Q. Living room is a dark dark room but it adds a touch of warmth I feel.
